Preview: New Apple TV+ comedy, 'The Studio,' drops Oscars-themed sneak peek with Seth Rogen and Zoë Kravitz
The Apple Original series starring Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders premieres March 26
It’s Hollywood’s biggest night! The Oscars are here and it wouldn’t be right to celebrate without a new sneak peek at the upcoming comedy series poking fun at the madness that is the film industry.
Apple TV+ released a new clip on Sunday morning of their upcoming comedy series “The Studio,” which stars Seth Rogen as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of embattled (and fictional) Continental Studios, as he fights to create great films in the ever-changing world of franchises, cash grabs, “IP,” “content,” and big Hollywood personalities.
The new clip features Rogen and guest star Zoë Kravitz behind the scenes at the Golden Globes – close enough! Rogen is playing his character, Matt Remick, while Kravitz appears as herself, having just won a Globe and preparing to take the stage to deliver her acceptance speech.
As the new guy in town at the head of Continental Studios, Matt has a desperate need to be loved and recognized by the stars he works with, and as a result, he finds himself begging Kravitz to name drop him in her acceptance speech to help boost his Hollywood street cred. It’s the epitome of Rogen’s character in the series all wrapped up into one scene, and it’s hysterical.
As if Rogen and Kravitz weren’t enough star power, comedian Ramy Youssef pokes his head in for a few seconds, seemingly as the host of the Globes, and name drops legendary director Christopher Nolan. Will even the mighty Christopher Nolan make an appearance in this star-studded comedy? That remains to be seen, but we know the icon Martin Scorsese will be featured!
Joining Rogen is a hilarious ensemble cast, including Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders, as well as Bryan Cranston, who will appear as a guest star. Alongside Kravitz and Youssef’s guest appearances, the series’ teaser trailer in November also featured shots of Hollywood stars Paul Dano, Zac Efron, Charlize Theron, Anthony Mackie, while first-look photos add Olivia Wilde, Rebecca Hall, Ron Howard and Steve Buscemi to the mix.
“The Studio” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, March 26 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through May 21.
